Greenkeepers discover the benefits of TOPSOIL

British Sugar’s TOPSOIL recently held a one day seminar titled, “The Art and Science of Modern Golf Course Management” at the City of Ely Golf Course.
The event was organised by Andy Spetch, TOPSOIL Manager at British Sugar in conjunction with The British and International Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA). Both organisations were pleased with the attendance of fourteen Greenkeepers from across the region.
The main focus of the day was to introduce British Sugar’s TOPSOIL to Greenkeepers and to demonstrate its uses and benefits.
Andy, along with others from the industry gave presentations on a range of subjects. The presentations included:
- Andy Spetch, British Sugar TOPSOIL
- Andy Baker, Course Manager, City of Ely Golf Course
- Peter Jones, Ten Top Tips for Agronomic Success on your Golf Course
- Dr John Newstead, Sports and Amenity Turf Characterisation with Delta-T Devices Ltd
After lunch Andy Baker, Course Manager at the City of Ely Gold Course took the group on a walk around the course to view the benefits of TOPSOIL and to answer any questions the delegates had.
Andy Spetch, TOPSOIL Manager said: “The seminar was a real success and these events always help to build relationships with our customers and potential customers. Since the event we have received a number of requests for quotations from a number of golf courses.
We aim to continue the promotion of our products through working more closely with BIGGA. This includes exhibiting at the BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) in Harrogate in January”.
