Special Award for Design & Build at this year’s BALI National Landscape Awards

TOPSOIL was the proud sponsor of the Special Award for Design & Build at this year’s BALI National Landscape Awards. The Awards ceremony, which took place on Friday 5th December at the Grosvenor House, London, was hosted by journalist, broadcaster and former Cabinet Minister Michael Portillo.

The Special Award for Design & Build was won by BALI Registered contractor Graduate Gardeners of Bisley, Gloucestershire, who were presented with the Award by Andy Spetch, National Topsoil Manager. Speaking after the presentation, Andy said; “British Sugar TOPSOIL is proud to count many, many BALI contractors amongst our customers, including Graduate Gardeners to whom I have presented the Special Award for Design & Build here today and I congratulate them on their success. BALI contractors appreciate that award-winning schemes start from the soil upwards and if they select our quality topsoil, which is produced to the British Standard, they are leaving nothing to chance; the planting and turfing will always do their schemes justice.”

Charles Price, Managing Director of winning contractor Graduate Gardeners, was understandably delighted to accept the award on behalf of his company: “To receive this accolade from BALI is heartening. We always work to a standard that we consider worthy of a BALI Award, and to have yet another of our schemes singled out for Design and Build excellence only serves to reinforce that approach.

When a scheme calls for imported topsoil we have used British Sugar TOPSOIL because it removes any worries we would otherwise have about the success of the softworks. This scheme was singled out for “quite simply beautiful” planting, and that can only thrive with the very best topsoil.
