Results from its annual Customer Survey have vindicated British Sugar TOPSOIL’s strategy of providing high quality products and excellent customer service to allow for a confident pricing structure.
20 percent of TOPSOIL customers responded to the survey, which was first introduced in its current comprehensive form in 2013. A prize draw giving respondents the opportunity to win a hamper of products from Associated British Foods, British Sugar’s parent company, was won by Geoff Hales, Contracts Manager at builder RG Carter.
British Sugar TOPSOIL supplied 5,289 tonnes of its BS3882:2015 accredited general landscaping topsoil, Landscape20, to RG Carter for the first two phases of the NORA (Nar Ouse Regeneration Area) project in Kings Lynn. Starting in 2014, Phases 1 and 2 of this exciting mixed use redevelopment and regeneration project are almost complete and Phase 3 is due to commence later this year.
RG Carter, which is based in Drayton near Norwich, is also soon to begin work on a new residential housing development at Goldsmith Street, Norwich. All homes will be built to the Passivhaus Standard for energy performance, making it one of the largest developments of eco-friendly homes in Norwich. TOPSOIL will be supplying 1,000 tonnes of subsoil and 1,000 tonnes of Landscape20, starting this autumn. Both the NORA and Goldsmith Street projects require safe, certificated topsoil to replace contaminated brownfield soils, which is why Geoff Hales of RG Carter relies on British Sugar TOPSOIL’s Wissington and Canley production facilities to provide product for his company’s turfing and seeding operations.
National TOPSOIL Manager Andy Spetch is pleased with both the level of response from customers to the survey and the feedback obtained: “Since we first introduced the annual survey we have found the feedback from our customers crucial to understanding what they value most. Without doubt it is the safety, consistency and reliability of TOPSOIL products supported by excellent customer service that puts us ahead of our competition. Our customers understand that achieving and maintaining these attributes means we cannot generally compete on price and the survey gives us confidence we have the balance just about right.”
British Sugar TOPSOIL is funding two £500 training bursaries in 2017 and welcomes applications from anyone working in the landscaping, garden design, amenity and sports sectors. Visit www.bstopsoil.co.uk/news-events for full Terms and Conditions and to apply online. The closing date for entries is Friday, 28th April with recipients being notified by Wednesday, 31st May.
