Job: Course manager Golf world Stansted and Groundsman Biggleswade Town FC
Duties: Golf World Stansted, managing all the outside areas including the golf course, driving range, adventure golf and foot golf.
Biggleswade Town FC, implementing a pitch improvement programme, overseeing pitches, 3G, and site maintenance.
Qualifications:
National technical certificate, National practical certificate, City and Guilds phase 1 and 2 Amenity Horticulture, N.V.Q level 3 sports turf management N.V.Q Level 4 sports turf management, Spraying pa1 pa6 pa2a
History: I started working at 16 with Wichmore Hill Cricket club, learning and helping maintain the cricket, football pitches, hockey pitches and the tennis courts including grass courts. Unfortunately, I was made redundant from the there and got a job at Muswell Hill golf club and have been working in golf ever since and in that time learning how to improve and maintain a golf course, irrigation maintenance, machine maintenance, planning and construction of winter projects and in my current role staff management, budget management the list goes on.
Recently I have been working with Biggleswade town FC where I put in place a 5-year pitch improvement programme, British Sugar topsoils and topdressing products are the perfect fit for we are trying to achieve at Biggleswade FC, and I’ve been impressed with the quality of their products. I am now using them on the golf course as well.
